WebAug 2, 2024 · Not only is the center ram not designed to take the stress of trailering but trailering in that way puts a lot of stress on the pins and bushings the motor pivots on. Using a My-Wedge type support takes most of the stress off of the center ram and the pivot bushings. A My-Wedge type support also greatly reduces the stress on the transom. WebFYI, last I checked all the engine manuals recommend a bar type saver supporting the engine from the trailer. Etec is the only one that I have seen that allows trailering using the internal motor support bracket, but if used, does not protect the transom. Check your boat manual and boat warranty warranty because some require a bar style saver.
